Guys, Gals, and Guns – It doesn’t get any better than that in G.I. Joe: Retaliation.
Here’s the gist: The Joes complete a mission, retrieving a stolen nuclear warhead, only to be wiped out by their very own government. The only survivors are RoadBlock (aka Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson), Lady Jaye, and Flint. Beloved characters from the first movie have become casualties. However, one Joe is missing from the massacre – Snake Eyes – who is heading up a personal mission.
The remaining Joes must fend for themselves in a world that believes them to be traitors. This is all due to the Joes’ nemesis – Cobra. Cobra has taken over the White House and plans to use a high-tech missile guidance system to hold the world hostage. It’s a well-worn plot device but it still works in this high octane movie.
So if you like action-packed gun battles, energetic fight scenes, and seeing a major world city destroyed then G.I. Joe: Retaliation is the movie for you. I was caught up in the chaos from start to finish.
Spoiler alert: A key Cobra character gets away at the end of the movie setting the stage for a third G.I. Joe film.
