It’s late at night and all you can think about is chocolate. Chocolate cupcakes, chocolate ice cream, chocolate candy bars with little chocolate chips…you’d even settle for chocolate cereal, if you had it. But just like every other night, there’s nothing in your pantry – or your fridge, or your secret stash – and you’re left with your chocolate craving sadly unsated.
But wait a minute. Look in the pantry again. You’ve got some flour lying around, right? Maybe some sugar, maybe even some cocoa?
You, my friend, are capable of magic. You are now capable of baking a brownie in a mug – in under five minutes.
Here’s what you need, besides a mug:
– 1/4 cup sugar
– 1/4 cup flour
– 2 tbsp cocoa
– A pinch of salt
– 2 tbsp oil
– 3 tbsp water
Once you’ve got your ingredients, here’s what you need to do:
1. Add all your dry ingredients to your mug.
2. All the oil and water.
3. Mix wet and dry ingredients until the batter is consistent – just like brownie mix you get from a box or make from scratch!
4. Microwave the mug for 1 minute and 40 seconds. Be careful when you take it out – it’ll be hot!
And after a magical 2 or 3 minutes, look what you’ve created!
You, culinary genius, can go back to bed with your midnight snack and keep those chocolate cravings at bay. Enjoy!
