All you need to know: Sunday’s Super Bowl

Are you planning on participating in any Super Bowl-related events this weekend?

Do you toss the Sports section of the newspaper aside?

When the game is on, are you finding other things to do around the house or on your phone?

If you answered yes to any of the above questions, don’t worry. Here’s a breakdown of all you need to know about this weekend’s game:

New Orleans, Sunday Feb. 3 at 6:30 p.m.

Teams playing:

San Francisco 49ers vs. Baltimore Ravens

Jim Harbaugh (49ers) and John Harbaugh (Ravens)

*Yes, they are brothers and it’s a big deal (or at least it’s fun for the media). It’s the first time brother coaches have played against one another in the Super Bowl.

Some key players:

49ers quarterback is Colin Kaepernick—it’s his second year as a NFL quarterback and his first year starting.

Baltimore Ravens quarterback is Joe Flacco.

Ray Lewis is the linebacker for the Baltimore Ravens. Lewis is known for being very outspoken and emotional during games. Calling on his teammates to bark like dogs in huddles is only one of his signature ways of pumping everyone up. This will be his last game.

Some other fun facts to throw into the mix:

– The 49ers’ team name comes from a name given to people who headed west and to Northern California for gold in the year 1849.

– Baltimore was a fourth seed team and they were not expected to make it this far.

– Beyonce is performing in the half-time show. She was accused of lip-synching at President Barack Obama’s inauguration on Jan. 21.
